Apollo Agriculture
Digital platform for small farmers Africa
About
Founded in 2016 by Eli Pollak, Benjamin Njenga, and Robert Sobukwe in Nairobi, Kenya, Apollo Agriculture is a digital platform that provides smallholder farmers in Africa with access to financing, high-quality farm inputs, agronomic advice, and crop insurance in a single bundled package. Using satellite imagery, machine learning, and mobile phone data, Apollo assesses creditworthiness of farmers who lack traditional credit histories, enabling access to seeds, fertilizer, and crop protection products on credit. The company operates primarily in Kenya, serving hundreds of thousands of small-scale farmers.
