Astronomer
Managed Apache Airflow orchestration platform
About
Founded in 2018, Astronomer is the commercial company behind Apache Airflow and operates Astro, a fully managed Airflow service available on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Astro handles infrastructure provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and version management so data teams focus on writing DAGs rather than operating Airflow clusters. The platform includes a local development CLI (Astro CLI), CI/CD integrations, role-based access, and an observability layer. Astronomer has deployed Airflow to over 800 enterprises including Herman Miller, Societe Generale, and Everlane, and has partnered with IBM for enterprise Airflow deployments. The company has raised roughly $300M from Bain Capital Ventures, J.P. Morgan, and Salesforce Ventures.
