About

Founded in 2001 as Cerisent and later renamed MarkLogic, the company built a multi-model NoSQL database capable of storing and querying JSON, XML, RDF triples, and binary documents in a single platform. It is widely deployed in government, publishing, financial services, and pharma—serving 9 of 15 major U.S. federal agencies, 6 of the top 10 global banks, and 6 of the top 10 publishers. Its semantic and full-text search capabilities make it a strong fit for complex content integration use cases. Progress Software acquired MarkLogic in February 2023 for $355M.
