About
Crewai is A leading open-source framework designed for orchestrating autonomous AI agents to collaborate on complex, multi-step tasks. By moving beyond single-prompt interactions, it allows developers to build "crews" of specialized agents that can role-play, delegate work, and use external tools to automate entire business workflows. The company was founded in 2023 by João Moura and Rob Bailey, officially launching its open-source project in November 2023. In October 2024, the company transitioned from a pure open-source project to a multi-agentic platform with the launch of CrewAI Enterprise. Centralized Management: A cloud-based platform for planning, deploying, and monitoring AI workloads at scale. It includes Enterprise Features: Includes templates, RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), security enhancements, and VIP support tailored for large organizations. Adoption: Before its general release, the enterprise tools attracted over 150 beta customers, and the platform is now used by nearly half of the Fortune 500, including companies like PwC and IBM.
