About

Founded in 2020 by Eliot Horowitz, co-founder and former CTO of MongoDB, Viam is a cloud-based software platform enabling engineers to build, deploy, and manage smart machines and robotics applications using familiar programming languages across any hardware. The platform spans prototyping to global fleet management with AI and automation capabilities. Customers include the New York Islanders and UBS Arena, Viking Yachts, Sbarro, Swiss nuclear firm Transmutex, and autonomous kitchen company Appetronix. Viam partnered with Kongsberg to create Sonar AI, the first virtual AI sonar operator for Simrad fish-finding sonars.
