Founded in 2018 and based in Boston, Breach is a regulated insurance underwriter purpose-built for the cryptocurrency economy. It operates a Bermuda-domiciled carrier, a US-licensed MGA, and a TPA, and holds a special IIGB license that permits it to denominate policies, accept premiums, and settle claims natively in cryptocurrency. Breach underwrites risks including theft and loss of private keys, crypto custody failures, and exchange counterparty risk, with institutional custody insurance limits up to $10M per policy and custom limits available. Its Crypto Shield Pro product serves institutional clients of crypto custody providers. The company has raised investment led by RW3 and LightShed Ventures and positions itself as the specialist carrier filling the insurance gap in the digital asset market.
